1963 Hofner 172 Super solid

This guitar is an absolute beauty. Made in 1963 & purchased new in 1964, it's had one owner from new & has never left Wem!

It hadn't been played for many years so I've given it a light, sympathetic restoration.

No additional paintwork, it's all original. It's just been stripped, carefully cleaned & polished, reassembled & set up.

The pickups have been rewound & wax potted by Kent Armstrong.

It was missing one tuner gear cover & the trem back plate but I managed to source genuine original replacements from a specialist in Germany.

The Flamed maple neck is visually stunning & feels very comfortable to play.

The pickups are clear & sparkly but respond to overdrive really well.

The trem works smoothly & returns to perfect tuning every time.

This isn't just a collectors piece to look at, it's a genuine vintage players guitar.

Comes with a period correct Selmer case.
